Carey Burtt

Every so often, I come across something that sends me for a loop. It is usually something that others have overlooked or simply do not understand, and occasionally it is something that other people just downright don't have the sick and twisted sense of humor that I possess to appreciate such a discovery.

This time around it is film artist and musician Carey Burtt. He is my newest inspiration and hero of the day. His work makes me want to create more films and score them with my own music...and maybe start a cult. I had a really difficult time finding out any information about this mysterious genius.

Most recently, Carey Burtt worked with Spike Priggen on his music video "I Know Everything," which features clips from "Guyana Tragedy: The Story of Jim Jones."

The short film 'Mind Control Made Easy'is what drew me into Burtt's world of twisted humor and now as I reflect it seems that there has been a fascination with cults and social undercurrents throughout the body of Burtt's work.
